Johann Hjorleifsson is one of the most sought after drummers in Iceland for all kinds of music and has been since in his late teens. Johann keeps up a busy schedule playing with his band Sálin hans Jóns míns, who has been the number one pop band in Iceland for the last 20 odd years. He has been with Sálin hans Jóns míns from 1998. Since then they have recorded nine albums who have reached gold and platinum sales.
Derrick started drumming in the 1960s, at the age of six, banging furiously on the kitchen floor with two of his mum's coat hangers, to a beat on the radio. Even at this early age Derrick knew that drumming was the one thing he really wanted to do.
