Gary Powell's career has spanned over 15 years of performing music as diverse as concert band, to alternative rock and roll, culminating in a career as the drummer for The Libertines, Dirty Pretty Things, The New York Dolls.
Anton was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and started playing the drums at age four. He moved to Boston in the USA when he was 17 and studied both jazz and classical music at the New England Conservatory, graduating in 1975. The following year he moved to New York and began making his name as a freelance musician. He soon met Letterman show MD Paul Shaffer on a session for Joan Armatrading, but it was almost ten years before he got the chance to join Shaffer on the Letterman show.
Born in Colchester, Essex, Rowntree was born to musical parents – Susan, a viola player, and John, a sound engineer at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). He attended the Gilberd School, Colchester during the week, and the Landermere Music School, Thorpe-le-Soken, at weekends, where he studied percussion. He played percussion with his father in the Colchester Silver Band, a brass band.
Eric Valentine is a noted musician in contemporary jazz/fusion and rock circles who is recently busy playing on the “G3” tour with Steve Vai.
Born in St. Louis Missouri USA, Mark had a strong desire for music (particularly drums) at 2 years of age. Singing and beating on everything in his mom’s house from pillows to pots and pans, it was clear that music was the way for him. Mark had his first opportunity to explore music at the age of 6 by playing drums at his home church.
