Yamaha releases the next-generation STAGEPAS 1K all-in-one portable PA system.
Shizuoka, Japan June 21 2019– Featuring a bold new design concept and significant improvements in audio performance, usability, and portability made possible by Yamaha's extensive experience developing professional audio products and technologies, the new STAGEPAS 1K re-defines the standard for portable PA systems.
Compact yet powerful package
The STAGEPAS 1K features a high-frequency array speaker equipped with 10 small-diameter 1.5” units that, like our high-end touring speakers, are equipped with neodymium magnets for professional-level accuracy and clarity. The subwoofer features a largest-in-class 12” unit, which is by no means “compact”, but the new cabinet design was developed to simultaneously house the sizable speaker yet improve portability with its streamlined construction and reduced weight and give the impression of a compact speaker system. The subwoofer also utilizes Yamaha's own Twisted Flare Port technology that effectively reduces wind noise in the bass reflex port, which can sometimes sabotage compact bass reflex subwoofers, providing a clearer, more powerful, distortion-free bottom end, particularly for bass-heavy applications. For a significant upgrade in power, the new STAGEPAS 1K features a 1000W Class-D amplifier. This is the most powerful amp in its class and delivering a surprising 119 dB SPL from the slim, compact speaker and cabinet. Just as impressive as the high output power is the stability and sound quality the system maintains even at high output.

The back of the STAGEPAS 1K subwoofer is equipped with a digital mixer with extensive input capability for a unit of this size, with a total of three channels of mono microphone/line inputs and stereo inputs, with two of the mono input channels equipped with Hi-Z connectivity for direct input of acoustic-electric guitars and other instruments. In addition to Phone and 1/8“mini jacks, the stereo connections support playback with Bluetooth devices as well as a wide range of input sources from instruments to CDs, PCs and smartphones. The mixer also comes equipped with professional-level sound engineering tools including 1-Knob EQ that handles multi-band processing simultaneously, high-quality SPX digital reverb that is a standard for professional consoles, and a Mode feature to adjust optimized compression settings such as Speech or Music to match various applications. Each of these functions can be set via a single knob, and have simplified many of the tough tasks like EQ and compression to get users great sound fast. Users can also download the STAGEPAS Editor dedicated remote editing software app for iOS/Android for remote parameter adjustment of the volume and EQ. It's also possible to call up previously saved settings, enabling a more efficient rehearsal or performance workflow.

Great utility and portability
The STAGEPAS 1K‘s simple physical setup requires merely affixing the array speaker on the 2 spacers (or one spacer if preferred) to the subwoofer cabinet. No other cables or speaker stand are required, making portability and setup fast and easy. The included carrying case not only protects the speaker during transportation and storage, but can also accommodate the spacers and speaker as well as the power cord and any microphones or cables used by the performers. An optional DL-SP1K dolly allows for more convenient transportation Featuring a simple, sturdy mechanism that locks down the speaker cover the lightweight dolly enables smooth, reliable transportation. For users requiring a wider coverage area or more sound pressure/ output power, two STAGEPAS 1Ks can be linked together easily. Users can choose to link in stereo or in mono, and when set to mono, both STAGEAPAS 1K inputs can still be used (for a total of six mono and two stereo inputs).
