How to install
This template is stored as MIDI Bulk data. To install the template in the AW2816, load the bulk data file (rs30.mid or rs60.mid) into a MIDI sequencer and send it to the AW2816.
Overview
This template allows you to control the volume and filter of synthesizer/ sequencers (such as the RS7000, QY series, and MOTIF) directly from the AW2816.
Features
When used with a synthesizer/sequencer, this template allows you to change the volume and cutoff frequency of multiple channels simultaneously. Pressing the ON button increases the resonance to a value of +30 (RS30) or +60 (RS60), giving the filter more of an "edge." Use this feature along with the AW2816's Scene Memory function to spice up a live performance. Of course, you can use the Automix function to record filter changes as well.
Function details
RS30 (rs30.mid)
The ON buttons of the faders of Remote Banks A and B are assigned to the volume control of MIDI Channels 1-16 [note ON/OFF (Note No. = C3, except for MIDI CH. 10 = C1)]. This makes it convenient to check the voices of each channel. The ON buttons of the faders of Remote Banks C and D are assigned to the cutoff frequency (brightness) control of MIDI Channels 1-16, which increases the resonance (harmonic content) to +30.
RS60 (rs60.mid)
The ON buttons of the faders of Remote Banks A and B are assigned to the volume control of MIDI Channels 1-16 [note ON/OFF (Note No. = C3, except for MIDI CH. 10 = C1)]. This makes it convenient to check the voices of each channel. The ON buttons of the faders of Remote Banks C and D are assigned to the cutoff frequency (brightness) control of MIDI Channels 1-16, which increases the resonance (harmonic content) to +60.
How to use
| 1. | Connect the AW2816's MIDI OUT/THRU terminal to the MIDI IN terminal of the device you want to control. |
| 2. | Set the device to receive MIDI IN signals. (See owner's manual for details.) |
| 3. | For QY series sequencers, set the HOST SELECT switch to MIDI. |
About the resonance value
It is possible to change the resonance value assigned to the ON button of Remote Bank C and D. Use the AW2816's jog dial to select a value between 00 and 7F for 5E in the beginning part of the MIDI message "Bx 47 5E" (rs30.mid), or 7C in the beginning part of the MIDI message "Bx 47 7C" (rs60.mid). Using a larger value for the resonance gives more edge to the filter. The initial resonance values are +30 (rs30.mid) and +60 (rs60.mid).
